State police at Frackville reported on the following incidents investigated by troopers in Schuylkill County:
• On April 6, troopers investigated a phone scam. Someone posing as a member of CACL Federal Credit Union called a 75-year-old man from New Philadelphia and demanded he purchase $12,000 in a Visa/MasterCard gift cards. If it was not done the victim was going to lose $41,000 due to an embezzlement scam going on within CACL. The victim discovered he was scammed and lost a $500 gift card.
• On March 28, a 36-year-old woman from Tamaqua said a catalytic converter, car battery, stereo and seat cushions were removed from her 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was broken down on Whitetail Crossing Road, in Walker Township.
• A 33-year-old woman from Mahanoy City, reported the theft of a 2018 CF Moto 500 all terrain vehicle, Camo color. The theft occurred in the village of Park Place, sometime on April 10 between 2 and 9:30 p.m.
• A 79-year-old woman from Pine View Lane, New Ringgold, East Brunswick Township, reported that sliding barn doors were damaged on her property sometime around March 20. Damages were estimated at $500.
