State police at the Stroudsburg barracks are investigating an illegal attempt to purchase a firearm.

Police said they were called at 10:06 a.m. April 11 to 321 Barbara Court, Hamilton Township, after someone who is not legally allowed to possess a firearm attempted to purchase one.
