One injured in West Penn crash

One person was injured Friday morning in a crash in West Penn Township. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Routes 309 and 895. According to reports from the scene, a woman driving a car pulled out of Route 895 into the path of a southbound van.

The woman was treated at the scene by members of the Penn Mahoning ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center. Responding to the scene were the West Penn fire and the Community Fire Company of New Tripoli. West Penn township police are investigating the incident.
