Andrew Moisey, longtime district magistrate for the northern area of Carbon County, has informed the Carbon County Court of Common Pleas of his intention to retire.

Moisey, who resides in Beaver Meadows, was re-elected to the post two years ago and will have 3½ years remaining on his term when he steps down as of June 30.

President Judge John P. Lavelle supervises the district magistrate and received Moisey’s official notification last week.
