A 56-year-old Slatington woman is facing charges of neglect of animals after state police at the Bethlehem barracks were summoned at 7:24 a.m. April 8 to a property in the 8900 block of North Loop Road in Washington Township.
As a result of the call, police said animals that they found to be neglected on the property were seized and placed into various shelters.
Police said they were initially summoned to a case of escaped horses and upon arrival observed numerous animals and animal enclosures around the property from where the horses had originated.
Police said because it appeared none of the animals were property taken care of and none of the enclosures were clean and safe, they secured a search warrant the following day and executed it on the woman while seizing the animals.
