A woman was injured Thursday afternoon when involved in a crash in West Penn Township. The crash occurred just before 3 p.m. along Route 443. The woman appeared to be driving east when she lost control on a rain covered roadway and ran off the road, snapping off a utility pole. The pole was carrying utility and power lines causing a power outage. The victim was being treated by members of the Tamaqua ambulance. West Penn Township police are investigating the incident.
