– Carolyn Bazik pitches a five-hitter and Angela Mammarella clouts a home run to lead the Marian Fillies to a 9-5 decision over Cardinal Brennan in a game played in Fountain Springs. Mammarella’s homer highlights a four-run fifth inning for the Fillies, who wipe out a 3-2 deficit and then add three more runs in the sixth. Besides Mammarella’s round tripper, the Marian offense is led by Kathy Kochaba, who had two of the nine Fillie hits.
