April 14 Maundy Thursday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, with Holy Communion begins at 7 p.m. Fifth-grade students who have completed instructional learning sessions from the Rev. Nancy Moore will receive their First Holy Communion at this time. Pastor Moore presides. Vicar Sarah Moore assists.

The solemn Good Friday Tenebrae worship begins at 7 p.m. April 15.

Easter Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. Glorious special music offerings are under the direction of Susan Lovejoy, Minister of Music. Holy Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten-free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. Masks are no longer required, however, if you are not fully vaccinated, please continue to wear a mask over the nose and mouth for your own protection and safety. The Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Sunday Church School and Confirmation classes will not meet April 17. Classes resume April 24.

Trinity Youth Group for students grades 7-12 will not meet 17. Sessions resume at 5 p.m. April 24.

The Trinity Thrift Store is open without reservations. Shopping and drop-off hours are Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours, limited to five bags or boxes. The Food Pantry continues to be open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (and third Tuesday from 5:30-7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting and precautionary measures in place. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or seek membership at Trinity, please contact the church office to register for instruction sessions for May. Neither session will meet in April.

In honor of Earth Day April 22 observance is Blessing of the Animals and other cherished items, 5:30-6 p.m. Vicar Sarah Moore will offer a blessing to your pet and other meaningful items such as medals, crosses, rings, photos or ashes of your deceased pet. Please drive along the Iron Street entrance of the church and remain in your vehicle.
