Thirty-nine Lehighton Area High School students completed a 24-hour fundraising marathon dance Saturday at the school.

The students started dancing at 8 o’clock Friday evening in the high school gym and had 15-minute rest periods every two hours with a half-hour break for lunch.

The dance raised funds for the annual “Night of Champions Banquet” honoring LAHS lettermen.

Ninety-eight students started the event, in which Robert Fatzinger and Greg Ebbert played records and faculty member Jeff Elder served as the DJ for the event.
