Fire department parking lot in need of repairs

Bowmanstown Fire Department’s parking lot is pothole-ridden and in need of repairs.

Council President Pam Leiby brought the matter forth at Tuesday’s borough council meeting.

Leiby said that she and council Vice President Darren Thomas met recently with borough fire Chief Michael Spairana Jr.

“Their parking lot is horrible,” Leiby said.

Afterward, Councilwoman Kara Scott asked to be taken off the fire committee.

“I would like to request to be removed from the committee,” Scott said. “I wasn’t aware that you were meeting.”

Scott is the chairperson of the fire committee.

Leiby said they met with Spairana to discuss some matters, and that the parking lot came up.

“It’s really bad; falling apart,” she said. “The parking lot is bad.”
