Bombers get baseball win; Marian sweeps
The Palmerton baseball team cruised to an easy victory, while Marian recorded a track sweep to highlight Wednesday’s scholastic sports card.
BASEBALL
Moravian Acad.-Palmerton
Josh Suto tossed a complete game shutout as Palmerton rolled to a 9-0 Colonial League win over Moravian Academy.
Suto surrendered three hits, struck out three, and walked one to earn the win on the mound.
Kaleb Eitner had two singles, a run scored and two RBIs to lead Palmerton offensively. Trey Sterling scored three times, while both Cole Serfass and Connor Beahm crossed home plate twice each.
The Bombers improved to 3-2 overall, and 2-2 in CL play. Moravian Academy drops to 0-4 both overall, and in the league.

Marian-Schuylkill Haven
Marian swept Schuylkill Haven in Schuylkill League action.
The Fillies ran away with an 89-52 win behind three first-place finishes from Fatikha Tiktova. Tiktova won the long, triple jump and high jump. Meanwhile, the Colts posted a 77.5-63.5 victory as Jacob Fenstermaker also captured three firsts. Fenstermaker ran by the competition in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes, and added a win in the shot put as well. Marian also got a pair of firsts from Alex Porambo (400, 800) and James Rodino (discus, javelin).

The visiting Blue Raiders recorded an 84.5-65.5 win on the girls’ side, while the Spartans grabbed an 81.5-68.5 victory on the boys’ side.
Ashley Jones (100H, 300H) and Kaziah Streisel (shot put, discus) both picked up a pair of firsts for the Tamaqua girls.
For the Raider boys, Alexander Nattress captured both the 110 and 300 hurdles.

Brittney Bartasavage and Ethan Buchert both picked up a pair of firsts for the Indians. Bartasavage won both hurdle events (100H, 300H), while Buchert sprinted to wins in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes.

Palmerton and Notre Dame of Green Pond split in Colonial League action on Tuesday.
The Bombers came out on top with an 85.5-65.5 win over the Crusaders on the boys’ side. Meanwhile, the Crusaders escaped with a tight 76-73 win on the girls’ side.
Nataly Walters led the way for the Lady Bombers as she grabbed first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash, the long jump and triple jump.
Lucas Heydt (100, javelin) and Owen Hibell (800, 1600) both had a pair of firsts for the Palmerton boys.
