The Carbon County Commissioners today made some long-standing appointments to fill vacancies on two authority boards.

Appointed by the board to the Carbon County Planning Commission for six-year terms were Dr. John Polumbo, Lansford; J. Edgar Smith, Penn Forest Township; Paul Balliet, Lehighton; and Harold Hamm, Towamensing Township.

Polumbo succeeds Bert Silver, Lansford; Smith takes the place on Luther Getz, Penn Forest Township; Balliet fills the vacancy of William Danneburg, Palmerton; and Hamm’s naming was actually a reappointment.

The commissioners also reappointed David Foster of Mahoning Valley to a five-year term on the Airport Authority.
