A York man was convicted Friday on an involuntary manslaughter charge, but not the more severe charges of first- and third-degree murder in the fatal July 2020 shooting of Lehighton resident Kyle Hagenbuch.
Desean Morris, 20, is scheduled for sentencing on June 6. The jury delivered its verdict after a 10-day trial in the York County Court of Common Pleas.
Hagenbuch, 26, was shot outside the Thunderguards Motorcycle Club clubhouse on East Clark Avenue in York City just before 7:30 p.m. on July 31, 2020.
He died Aug. 2 at WellSpan York Hospital.
“Not Guilty of Murder 1 and Murder 3,” defense attorney Sandra Thompson posted on Facebook following the verdict. “This 20 year old has a second chance at life.”
Hagenbuch was a graduate of Lehighton Area High School and played on the Carbon County Savages, a local semi-professional football team.
