Vinnie Cappadocia was unanimously appointed to fill an unexpired term on the Jim Thorpe Area School District Board of Education during a meeting of the board last night.

Cappadocia, a retired Jim Thorpe resident who worked as a manager for TWA Airlines, will take the seat vacated by the resignation of former director Todd Mason.

His regular attendance at board meetings and knowledge of issues facing the district helped get him appointed, according to board members. Director William Ackerman, board president, said, “It’s almost like he (Cappadocia) was a member of the board even before he was appointed.”
