Tamaqua man charged with disorderly conduct

Arnold Martinez, 42, of Lancaster, is facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, false identification to law enforcement, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

On March 12 at 10 a.m. police were dispatched to the 100 block of Patterson Street for a disturbance involving a man yelling and walking through backyards. A resident identified a man walking east on Patterson Street and the one causing the disturbance.

Police then made contact with the man, who was Martinez, but who said his first name was Andrew. Police found drug paraphernalia on him during a search. Martinez did not know his birth date, except it was in April, and gave an address of 1705 something in Lancaster.

The man asked for medical attention, stating he did not feel well. An EMS unit arrived and he was taken to St. Luke’s Miners Campus in Coaldale. At the hospital personnel attempted to get information from Martinez using a Spanish translator. He then said his first name was Angel and his birth date was in April.

While checking further on his identity, police found no information on the name Martinez provided. Later police learned his real name and were able to get his information.
