Three Republican candidates for positions on the Tamaqua Borough Council were removed from the primary election ballot in that community under a ruling made by the Schuylkill County Elections Board.

Linda Yulanavage, Herman Lutz and Reginald Weicker will have the options of appealing the decision or conducting write-in campaigns after their names were stricken from the ballot lineup.

The trio filed individual nominating papers with the county that were not accompanied by statements of financial interest, a requirement by state law and the reason for dismissal of their candidacies.
