Annual Spring Melt Pond Skim Saturday at Camelback

Camelback Resort in Tannersville will hold its annual Spring Melt Pond Skim on Saturday.

Registration is from 11 a.m. to noon at Adventure Basecamp for participants, who must be 18 years or older and have lift tickets.

The skimming takes place from noon to 2 p.m. at Sunbowl at Adventure Basecamp (parking lots 8 & 9, all resort parking). Awards and live music follow. There will be prizes for Best Skim and Best Costume, Raffles and Music.

Each year, Camelback Resort throws a Spring Melt Pond Skim event to celebrate the end of the ski and snow season and usher in the new seasons to come at this year-round fun-filled, activity-packed Poconos retreat.

The fun, funny and photogenic Spring Melt Pond Skim is open to good-sport participants 18 years or older with lift tickets for entrance.

All come to pond skim - many in hilariously crazy costumes - on their skis (no poles), snowboards and floaties, all aiming to make impressive splashes and wow the cheering crowd and the judges.

Season pass prizes are awarded for Best Skim and Best Costume. There are also great raffle prizes, including Camelback branded Meier skis and snowboard, 2022-23 winter season passes and Camelbeach season passes.

The last day of skiing at Camelback Resort is on Sunday, while snowtubing is available through April 3.
