Slatington council on Monday authorized Borough Manager Dan Stevens and Lindsay Taylor, the director of the Northern Lehigh Recreation Association, to co-manage the Victory Park bathroom renovation.

The council also approved a new fee related to Victory Park rentals. Now that there is an amphitheater, the council needed to set a fee for rental of it.

“We didn’t have one on the fee schedule,” Stevens said.

Now, people can rent the amphitheater for $100 for the full day or $50 for a half day. They can also rent the amphitheater and the pavilion for $150 for the full day. Renting the pavilion was already available for rent at $100 for the full day.

There were also some resignations and new appointments made to area organizations. Engineer Mike Turoscy resigned from the UCC Board of Appeals. His term would have ended on Dec. 31, 2023. And David Hauser was appointed to the Slatington Library Board.

And the council approved the use of the trailhead for the St. Luke’s Hospice’s 11th Annual Charity Bike event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 4.
