Two homes were extensively damaged by fire Friday night in Tamaqua.

The incident was reported just before 11 p.m. at 212 Race St.

Tamaqua police, first on scene, reported a working dwelling fire.

Within minutes the fire spread to 214 Race, the second half of the double block unit.

Neighbors report the two homes were recently renovated. No injuries were reported in the incident.
