The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, alleging defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

American Express Associates, Bensalem, filed an action against Amber Frey, 256 S. First. St., Lehighton, seeking $4,418.96.

Cavalry SPV I, Greenwich, Connecticut, filed an action against Nancy M. Redcay, 54 Lucretius Trail, Albrightsville, seeking $6,233.81.

LVNV Funding, Las Vegas, Nevada, filed the following actions: Edward Shafer, 23 Hopi Road, Jim Thorpe, seeking $2,194; Dawn D. Krick, 115 Mansi Drive, Albrightsville, seeking $1,656.05; and Diana Boyer, 57 E. Maple St., Tresckow, seeking $1,948.39.

Midland Credit Management Inc., Philadelphia, filed an action against Kawreen Castillo, 265 Doney Run, Weatherly, seeking $2,237.20.

Portfolio Recovery Associates, Norfolk, Virginia, filed the following actions: Jasmine D. Reppert, 438 N. Third St., Lehighton, seeking $1,294.94; Jacob E. Becker, 339 Tower Road, Albrightsville, seeking $1,288.76; and Edward A. Wagner, 112 W. Bertsch St., Lansford, seeking $2,526.34.

Wells Fargo Bank, San Francisco, California, filed an action against Thomas J. Goida, 10 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill, seeking $11,233.

Mortgage foreclosures

The following actions were filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans.

• Wells Fargo Bank, c/o 3475 Stateview Blvd., Fort Mill, South Carolina, filed an action against Keith Schaeffer, 321 Second St., Weatherly, over property at that address. Sought is $79,655.56 and continuing interest.

• Rocket Mortgage LLC, dba Quicken Loans, c/o 1050 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Michigan, filed an action against Christina Lee Turner, 610 Lattimer Road, Hazle Township, Luzerne County, over property at 571 E. Center St., Nesquehoning. Sought is $113,074.01 and continuing interest.

• U.S. Bank National Association, c/o 115 West Ave., Jenkintown, filed an action against Marilyn and Peter Blodgett, 847 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, over property at that address. Sought is $149,158.91 and continuing interest.

• Freedom Mortgage Corporation, c/o 907 Pleasant Valley Ave., Mount Laurel, New Jersey, filed an action against Ana and Gyula Ujvari, 97 Old Stage Road, Albrightsville, over property at that address. Sought is $199,597.79 and continuing interest.

Work not done

Hipolito and Candy Madera, 84 Sunrise Drive, Jim Thorpe, has filed a civil action against Daymel Villarejo, individually and dba, Villarejo Services, 1575 Creekside Road, Whitehall, Lehigh County.

The suit states on or about May 3, 2021, the defendant and plaintiffs entered into a contract for the defendant to perform home improvement work at 84 Sunrise Drive, Jim Thorpe. The cost of the work was set at $42,543.06.

The suit alleges during the course of the next months the plaintiff, at the request of the defendant, advanced money on the project to the defendant for materials to due to the work.

The suit alleges work was done sporadically. More payments were made to the defendant, the suit continues, for the work. On Sept. 1, 2021, a drain backed up and flooded the basement, causing an estimated $8,818.29 in damages.

The work is still not completed, the suit charges.

Breach of contract, breach of implied warranty and negligence is among the allegations made in the seven count suit. Sought are damages of $126,237 plus interest, costs and fees.
