A 9-year-old girl who drowned in a resort pool at Split Rock Resort in Kidder Township Friday afternoon has been identified.

Carbon County Coroner Bob Miller said the girl, Angelbelle Ihejirika of Jamaica, New York, was pronounced dead at 12:36 p.m. Friday. Her family was staying at the resort.

Miller said her cause of death is drowning.

Kidder Township police are investigating the incident.
