A home was heavily damaged by fire late Saturday night in Tamaqua.
The blaze was reported around 11 p.m. at 139 Mahanoy street. The first to arrive on scene were the Tamaqua police who reported a fully involved dwelling fire with possible entrapment.
Responding to the scene were all four Tamaqua fire companies and Rescue Squad as well as Lansford, Summit Hill and Pottsville fire departments.
The occupants of the home did manage to escape the flames.
Tamaqua fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down area streets and roadways.
