Tamaqua Police have charged a borough man with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

On Feb. 25 at 11 p.m. an officer saw Mathew Hibbler, 20, of West Rowe Street, enter the passenger side door of a Mazda sedan parked in the area of 428 E. Broad St. The car left the parking space and made an illegal U-turn to go west.

Police stopped the car and identified Hibbler, who had an active warrant issued out of the county. Police searched the car and found a small bag with five blue pills and marijuana located under the driver’s seat. Hibbler admitted the pills and marijuana were his. He was transported to the county prison on the warrant.
