The Panther Valley Chamber of Commerce gathered at the Edgemont Lodge, Lansford, to pay tribute to Edward Michalik of Summit Hill during its Past Presidents Dinner.

Immediate past president Michalik was recognized for his accomplishments during his tenure, including the introduction of the ROTC program at Panther Valley High School, his service as president of the Carbon-Schuylkill Industrial Development Corporation and for his service on the board of the Home Savings and Loan Association of Pennsylvania, Lansford.

A walnut plaque with a gavel and bronze plate was presented to Michalik by President John Kovatch of Nesquehoning.
