Police investigate child abuse cases

State police at Fern Ridge reported troopers are investigating three child-abuse type cases in separate incidents.

Troopers said on Feb. 26 at 9:20 p.m. they received a report of possible sexual assault of a child, listed as a 4-year-old girl from Effort, at a home in the area of Poplar Creek Lane and Poplar Crossing Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers noted an investigation is ongoing.

On Feb. 16 at 11:38 a.m. troopers said they received a 4 Child Line referral’s for child abuse taking place at a home along Pocahontas Lane in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. The listed victims are three girls, ages 4, 5 and 6, all from Albrightsville; and a 33-year-old female form Larksville, Luzerne County. An investigation is ongoing.

On Feb. 18 at 4:03 p.m. troopers received a Child Line report of suspected child abuse/neglect has taken place along Sycamore Circle in Penn Forest Township. A 17-year-old female from Albrightsville is the listed victim. No other details were released. Troopers said the report is currently under investigation.
