Mahoning Township has opted to do away with its salt and cinder sheets.
The board took the action on a 3-2 vote. Supervisors Ronald Reeser, Myron “Zeke” Blahy and Brian Reeser were in favor. Supervisor Deborah McGowan and board Chairman Robert Slaw opposed.
Ronald Reeser said the sheets are inaccurate at best, not to mention time consuming.
The township has the material, but the sheets show it’s using more than what it’s using.
Before the vote, Slaw said he’d like to see the salt and cinder sheets continue.
