– A three-point play by Terry McElmoyle with 28 seconds left to play gives Marian a lead it never surrenders in a 65-60 win over Minersville in a District 11 2A tilt played at Panther Valley. Miner Fran Doyle hits a jumper with :37 on the clock to give his team a 60-59 advantage, but McElmoyle dribbles the length of the court, scores on a driving layup and swishes an accompanying free throw to give the Colts a 62-60 advantage. Rich Miller adds a free throw, and Shawn McGinley finishes the scoring with a layup with :03 on the clock to seal the win.
