A quick response by Carbon County fire companies saved a spacious home from fire.

The blaze was reported around 2:40 p.m. at 4595 Interchange Road in Towamensing Township. First fire officials arriving in scene reported a working fire in an attached garage.

Fire companies from Towamensing and Franklin townships responded holding the fire within the area of the garage. Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene.

Firefighters were on scene for about an hour.
