High school students earn Albright College merit scholarships
Known for academic rigor, Albright College is celebrating the hard work of top-achieving high school applicants by awarding academic merit awards. The college’s admission team considers grade-point average to be a primary indicator of motivated students of academic promise.
Local students awarded scholarships to Albright include:
• Rylie Bryfogle of Lehighton has earned a $17,000 annual Dean’s Scholarship. Currently attending Lehighton Area High School, Bryfogle is interested in studying biochemistry; chemistry and/or biology: biotechnology.
• Lexie Delong of Danielsville has earned a $17,000 annual Dean’s Scholarship. Currently attending Northampton Area High School, Delong is interested in studying psychology; psychobiology general and/or sociology.
• Zachery Willard of Orwigsburg has earned a $17,000 annual Dean’s Scholarship. Currently attending Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School, Willard is interested in studying physics: general and/or marine & aquatic science.
• Nicholas Behr of Andreas has earned a $17,000 annual Dean’s Scholarship. Currently attending Tamaqua Area Senior High School, Behr is interested in studying business administration: international business; business administration: sports management and/or psychology.
• Olivia Eckroth of New Ringgold has earned a $19,000 annual Presidential Scholarship. Currently attending Blue Mountain High School, Eckroth is interested in studying crime and justice and/or sociology: criminology.
• Santino Napoli of Mahanoy City has earned a $19,000 annual Presidential Scholarship. Currently attending Mahanoy Area High School, Napoli is interested in studying biochemistry; biology: general and/or medical technology.
• Jaxil Tovar of Mahanoy City has earned a $19,000 annual Presidential Scholarship. Currently attending Mahanoy Area High School, Tovar is interested in studying computer science.
• Matthew Olsen of Nesquehoning has earned a $19,000 annual Presidential Scholarship. Currently attending Panther Valley High School, Olsen is interested in studying computer science.
• Andy Gallegos of Effort has earned a $19,000 annual Presidential Scholarship. Currently attending Pleasant Valley High School, Gallegos is interested in studying physics: general and/or mathematics.
Dean’s Scholarships, in the amount of $17,000 per year, are offered to students with excellent academic records who demonstrate a commitment to school and community involvement.
Presidential Scholarships, in the amount of $19,000 per year, are offered to students with outstanding academic records. Presidential Scholars generally rank in the top 5 percent of their graduating class and demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to service.
