A Schuylkill County driver was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 2:15 p.m. on Feb. 22 along New Smithville Road in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Angel M. Shiner, 18, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2006 Ford Escape southbound and lost control on a left curve on the wet roadway. The vehicle went onto the berm where it struck a utility pole.

The pole then fell across the road.

Shiner was injured and taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown Campus. The vehicle had to be towed.

She was cited for the crash.
