Soldiers serving in Operation Desert Storm will be warmer during the cold desert nights thanks to long johns made at the J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills of Hometown.
The U.S. government recently awarded the knitting mill a contract to keep America’s soldiers warm in the unpredictable climate in the Operation Desert Storm arena.
The contract calls for Morgan to make 135,000 dozen of the thermal undergarment. As of last week, the company has already shipped 65,000 dozen of them to Saudi Arabia in 35 sea containers on the USS Discovery. The remaining 70,000 dozen will be shipped via tractor-trailers to Richmond, Virginia, for later disbursement to our troops.
