Panther Valley’s Bob McMichael tallies a school-record 36 points to lead the Panthers to a 75-67 win over North Schuylkill in a matchup played at “The Pit” in Lansford. The senior’s new mark breaks that of Bill Pilconis by one point. Earlier in the year, McMichael had 34 points against Mt. Carmel. A 12-point scoring spree in the second quarter by McMichael allows PV, coached by John Harkins, to open up a 19-point lead that the Spartans are never able to overcome. Bob Fredericks and Bill Zahora also contribute to the Panther attack with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
