2022 primary election: Rader announces re-election bid in 176th House District

State Rep. Jack Rader announced that he will be running for re-election in the 176th District.

“Throughout my public service, I’ve put aside partisan politics to put people first,” Rader said. “Now more than ever we must work together to restore common sense and find bipartisan solutions to the challenges we face.”

Rader has successfully passed laws in Harrisburg to expand economic opportunity for Monroe County businesses, secured millions of dollars in grants to fund local infrastructure and public safety improvements, and voted for record education funding for Monroe County schools to help children as well as control property taxes. He’s done it by working across the aisle and focusing on local priorities. He’s running for re-election because he knows our local communities need strong representation now as we fully recover from the global pandemic that impacted the entire nation.

Rader has a simple goal: do what’s right for the people he serves. That’s why he’s used his increased seniority to pass successful initiatives including:

• Record education funding for Monroe County schools that helps keep property taxes in check while improving quality of education

• A School Safety Grant program to help improve student safety

• Drug treatment legislation to complement a bipartisan package of laws he supported to fight the opioid/heroin epidemic

• A bill to move liquor licenses out of counties with too many to those who need more - expanding the number available to businesses in Monroe County, particularly in our important tourism industry

• Stopping massive income-and-sales tax increase proposals that offer no offsetting property tax relief

• Historic public pension reform to save taxpayers billions of dollars

“Listening to residents, visiting local businesses, meeting with folks whenever possible, holding events with constituents - it’s simply the best way to ‘represent’ people and their interests in Harrisburg,” Rader said. “That’s why it’s my No. 1 priority and always will be.”

Rader is a successful local businessman, a lifelong resident of the community, and a husband, father and grandfather. He lives in Jackson Township with wife Susan. They are the proud parents of four children and seven grandchildren.
