State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers:

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 5:40 a.m. on Feb. 3 along Interstate 80 westbound in Kidder Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Alexander Ruiz Luna, 35, of Hazleton, was driving a 2008 Honda Odyssey when he lost control. The vehicle crossed both westbound lanes and then struck a guide rail along the berm. The vehicle traveled 12 more feet before coming to rest.

Luna had to be extricated from the vehicle by Lake Harmony Fire Company and EMS units and was taken to Geisinger-Wilkes Barre. The vehicle had to be towed.

Luna was cited for driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked.

• Another crash was reported on Feb. 3 at 8:46 a.m. along Sugar Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Luz D. Daddato, 58, of Effort, was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound was going too fast for conditions. The vehicle slid on a patch of ice causing Daddato to lose control. The vehicle entered the oncoming lane, then went onto the berm and collided head-on into a tree.

Daddato was not injured, but the vehicle had to be towed.

• A one-vehicle crash occurred at 8:12 a.m. on Feb. 2 along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Patricia A. Buccieri, 70, of Kresgeville, was driving a 2017 Dodge Journey when it left the road and struck a ditch. Buccieri suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene by West End ambulance personnel. The vehicle had to be towed.

She was cited for the crash.
