Monsignor Joseph Marzen, pastor, and Sister Felice, principal, conducted presentations during the Awards Night program held this week at St. Joseph’s School, Jim Thorpe.

Spelling bee winners were Dawn Klitsch, grades 7-8, Kathy Reinhart, grades 5-6, and Karen Reinhart, grades 3-4.

First-place winner in the essay contest was John Gavornik while the poster contest winners were Billy Steen, first grade; Jason Brown, second; Valerie Binder, third; Jennifer Kuzo, fourth; Marie Rothermel, fifth; Joseph Schatz, sixth; George Upanavage, seventh; and Billy Martino, eighth.

Chris Thamarus won the science project contest while David Rimsky was the winner of the religion project award.
