Faith Alive Church
Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St. Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and then traditional service at 11 a.m. You can worship in person in the sanctuary or Leah’s Room or in the parking lot by turning radio station to 104.3 FM or Facebook Live.
Events for February:
Wednesdays, Feb. 9, 16 and 23 at 7 p.m. is prayer and praise in the sanctuary or church parking lot (104.3).
Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 6 p.m. Youth Group “Impact” will meet
Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. is Prayer Shawl Ministry
Feb. 10 and 24 at 2 p.m. is Adult Bible Study
Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. is Game Night. All welcome, bring your favorite game and snack to share.
Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. is church council meeting.
Various missions:
“ABC Food Pantry” is collecting canned soup to stock the pantry. This ministry helps the local community and anyone in need of food. Food and money donations always accepted.
“Prayer Shawl Ministry” makes chemo hats, lap robes and prayer shawls. Anyone who crochets is welcome to join the group each month.
“Micah’s Backpack” helps to feed the needy students at Palmerton Area School District. Please check the church website for food items they accept to fill the backpacks.
Mission of the Month: CareNet. Pick up a baby bottle in the church lobby and collect loose change during this month. Return the baby bottle by Feb. 27. All proceeds go to this worthwhile organization which helps to educate pregnant women, assist them with baby clothing, baby furniture, diapers and formula.

JUCC
Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will hold Sunday service at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. You can also remain in your vehicle and listen to the service on radio station 95.5 FM or watch live on Facebook. The service is also posted on the website after it has concluded. This Sunday Holy Communion will be observed. Supply Pastor Don Quayle will lead the worship service.
Looking ahead, the second movie night will be held on Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. “Heaven is for Real” will be shown in the church sanctuary. Free of charge, and free popcorn and drinks.
Grief & Loss Support
A monthly Grief and Loss Support Group will meet at Jerusalem UCC, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville on Feb. 9 at 1 p.m. and Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m. Directed by professional counselor Sue Featro, M.E.D., E.D.D., M.S. Counseling, this group is for people experiencing grief due to trauma, loss or death. It is an effort to assist people in the surrounding community to heal and find peace. Jerusalem Evangelical
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville, is now holding Sunday worship at 9 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth Melber Jr. leads the service. Come and join in worship.
In case of bad weather, worshippers will be able to find out if services have been canceled through either email (make sure the office has your email address), Facebook, the church website or Channels 13 and 69 on your TV.
Kids for the Community
The Kids for the Community are conducting a Community Love Drive to benefit the Palmerton Food Pantry. For the entire month of February, the group will be collecting shampoo, deodorants, toothpaste, tissues, paper towels, toilet paper and cleaning supplies. Items can be dropped off at 783 Princeton Ave., Palmerton.
The group is also still conducting its Warmth for Winter Drive. They are collecting coats, scarves, hats, and gloves. For information check the groups Facebook page.
Knitting Club
The Knitting Club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library on Monday, Feb. 7 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The club is free and open to anyone interested in knitting and crocheting of all skill levels.
Basket social
A basket social will be held in the St. John Neumann Regional School gymnasium, 259 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, on Feb. 26 from noon to 5 p.m. and Feb. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For “early bird” special tickets call 610-737-0968 by Feb. 25. The kitchen will be open.
Breakfast
Breakfast will be served Sunday from 8 to 11:30 a.m. at the Parryville Fire Co. No. 2, 359 Main St., Parryville. Platter choices include pancakes, French toast, eggs any style, SOS, Fire House Mess, western omelet, ham and cheese omelet. Choices of meats are ham, sausage, scrapple or bacon. Includes home fries, juice and coffee. They have large and small platters.

Palmerton council
The regular meetings of the Palmerton Borough Council will be held Feb. 10 and 24 at 7 p.m. in Borough Hall Council Chambers, 443 Delaware Ave., Palmerton.
Living Hope Lighthouse Church
Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 Third St., Palmerton will hold Sunday worship service at 10 a.m. Wear a jersey from your favorite NFL team. Join in a Soup-er Bowl Fellowship Luncheon. There will be a soup and chili cook-off contest.
Block Shoot
A Block Shoot will be held at the Bowmanstown Rod & Bun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton, on Feb. 5. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the shoot starts at noon. Food and drinks are included with ticket purchase. The shoot is open to the public and smoke free.
