The Carbon County Area Aging on Agency has announced that there will be free AARP income tax preparation for seniors.

Taxes will be prepared remotely. You must fill out a packet of forms before you arrive at the site.

The fastest way to receive the forms is to get them at any of the listed pickup sites.

• Lehighton Rec Center: 243 S. Eighth St., Lehighton, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon

• Palmerton Senior Center: 501 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon

• Jim Thorpe Penn-Kidder Senior Center: Bear Creek Plaza, Route 903, Jim Thorpe, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon

• State Rep. Doyle Heffley’s Office: 204-B Bridge St., Weissport

• Beaver Meadows Borough Hall: 100 E. Broad St., Beaver Meadows

• Kidder Township Municipal Building: Route 1003 & 903, Lake Harmony

• Clymer Library: 115 Firehouse Road, Pocono Pines

• Hughes Library: 1002 N. Ninth St., Stroudsburg

• Middle Smithfield Twp. Library: 5200 Milford Road (Route 209), East Stroudsburg

People must call the scan site they wish to go to to make an appointment for their paperwork to be scanned. Please let the people taking the appointment know you have the forms. If they have to be mailed, there will be a two-week delay in the appointment time.

Appointment only scan sites are held from 9 a.m. to noon through April 15.
