Pleasant Valley defeated East Stroudsburg South to take 11th place at the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference team championships on Saturday.

Pleasant Valley defeated East Stroudsburg South, 43-21, in the 11th place match at the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Championship Day event.
The Bears recorded four pins in the match, which came from Everett Lata (126 pounds), Aldin Vukel (138), Josh Griffith (145) and James Syracuse (189).
PV also received a major decision from Thomas Lovito at 152 pounds, while Edward Lauritsen (120), Aaron Nonnemaker (160) and James Barruzza (215) chipped in with decision wins.
Bethlehem Catholic captured the title, defeating Nazareth 30-24, in the championship match. Northampton placed third by defeating Easton in the 18-team competition.

Tamaqua at Line Mtn. Duals
Tamaqua posted a 2-3 team record at the Line Mountain Duals.
The Blue Raiders defeated Hanover (64-12) and Littlestown (42-36), while falling to Red Lion (42-30), Berwick (51-20) and tournament champion Shikellamy (53-15).
Brody Bryce went 4-1 for Tamaqua, earning two decision wins and receiving two forfeits.
Raider wrestlers who went 3-2 included Gabe Erbe, Matt Hedrick, Jacob Hehn and Cole Eberts.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Mahanoy Area-Weatherly
Mahanoy Area used a strong second half to pull away from Weatherly for a 60-32 Schuylkill League victory.
The Wreckers, who received a team-high 10 points from Frankie Willis, trailed only 25-20 at the break. But the Golden Bears used a 22-8 third quarter to increase the margin.
Tanner Zawanda tallied a game-high 20 points for Mahanoy, including 12 on four three-pointers in that third period.
Weatherly’s Owen Broskoskie also chipped in with eight points, as the Wreckers dropped to 1-12 overall and 0-6 in the league.

Tamaqua-Pine Grove
Tamaqua’s McKenna Meckes scored a game-high 18 points, but the Blue Raiders dropped a 64-56 Schuylkill League decision to Pine Grove.
Serena Jones added 16 points to the Tamaqua cause, while Trenyce Wingler contributed 10.
The Cardinals, who led by just two points at halftime before extending the margin to seven heading into the final period, received a team-high 16 points from Marissa Stewart.
The Raiders dropped to 6-11 overall and 1-9 in the league.
Tamaqua managed a 35-28 win in the JV game.
