Carbon County court

A Philadelphia woman admitted in Carbon County court on Friday with driving drunk while two juveniles were in her vehicle.

She was one of 14 defendants in pending driving under the influence cases to enter a guilty plea before Judge Steven R. Serfass.

Two incidents

Princess Betsy Gonzalez-Serrano, 34, pleaded to one count each of DUI and endangering the welfare of a child. She also entered a plea in a second case to one count of accidents involving damages to attended vehicle/property. Both incidents occurred on Feb. 24, 2021.

Franklin Township police charged her for a hit-and-run crash. After she fled that scene she was stopped by Lehighton for DUI. Police said two children, ages 7 and 13, were in the vehicle when she was stopped for DUI of a controlled substance. She refused to submit to testing.

Serfass deferred sentencing because there is a question concerning restitution due in the hit-and-run case.
