The Panther Valley Senior Center has announced the menu for Jan. 31-Feb. 4 is:

Monday: No meal

Tuesday: Tortellini, Italian vegetables, roll, orange or turkey pita

Wednesday: Kielbasa and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans, jello or crispy chicken salad

Thursday: Lemon butter fish, macaroni and cheese, stewed, tomatoes, broccoli, chocolate pudding or egg salad sandwich

Friday: Pepper soup, open pork sandwich, mashed potatoes, fruit crisp or Greek salad

The center also announced upcoming events:

Po-Keeno Jan. 28 at 11 a.m.

Chair Exercise on Jan. 31 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Brain Games at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Feb. 1 at 10:45; Nickel-Keeno on Feb. 2 at 11 a.m.; Cornhole on Feb. 3 at 11 a.m.; Game Day on Feb. 4 at 10:30 a.m.

Chair Exercise on Feb. 7 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Scattergories at 11 a.m.; Speaker from Weatherwood on Feb. 8 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Feb. 9 at 10:45; Sunshine Meeting on Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. followed by Po-Keeno at 11 a.m.; Minute To Win It on Feb. 11 at 10:30 a.m.

Pool, Skeeball, Cards, Games and Socialization available every day. New members always welcome. For more information or to sign up call the center Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-1 a.m. at 570-669-9930.

Tax prep assistance

The Panther Valley Public Library will offer assistance to seniors age 60 and older who qualify for the rent/property tax rebate in preparing federal income tax form 1040 and the Pennsylvania tax return.

Patrons can drop off their tax information at the library 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, on Feb. 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and March 4 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Appointments are required for these services.

Call the library at 570-645-3780 Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon or Thursday from 5-7 p.m. to schedule your appointment.
