One person was injured Thursday afternoon in a crash in Walker Township.
The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. as the male driver was traveling east on Valley Road about a half-mile west of the intersection with Wildcat Road. The driver apparently lost control, crossing the roadway and snapping off a utility pole.
The sport utility vehicle came to rest on its roof in a field. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center.
The New England and East End fire companies responded to the scene.
The roadway was closed for about an hour.
