Announcement has been made of the appointment of Louis P. Vicorek of 519 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, as executive director of the Lehighton Chamber of Commerce,

John R. Williams, chamber president, said the Pennsylvania State University graduate was selected after 10 candidates for the post had been interviewed.

Vicorek is a son of Florence Vicorek of Lansford and the late Louis Vicorek, and graduated from Marian High School in 1972. After graduating from PSU in 1976, he served last summer as an employee of the Carbon County Planning Commission under its Highway Safety Program, and in recent months has been a research specialist for the Economic Development Council of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
