Santonio Malone, the man wanted for a murder in Mahanoy City, was transported back to Schuylkill County.

He is in the Schuylkill County Prison. Magisterial District Judge Anthony Kilker arraigned him at 3:30 p.m. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 1 in Kilker’s office.

Malone, 36, is charged with first and third-degree murder, four counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, possessing and instrument of crime and criminal attempt-criminal homicide.

He was apprehended in Memphis earlier this month.

State police identified the man killed as Juan Carlos Romero, 33, of Hazleton. Alorfi Bladimir Ramirez, 29, of Hazleton Township, was also shot.

Mahanoy City Police responded to the Rmusic21 Lounge at E. Centre and S. Second St. at 2:50 a.m. Oct. 24 to a disturbance outside. The assailant shot Romero “multiple times” in the middle of the street.

Ramirez, who was kneeling behind his vehicle parked in front of the lounge after he got a gun from it, was then shot by the assailant.
