Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St. Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and then traditional service at 11 a.m. You can worship in person in the sanctuary or Leah’s Room or in the parking lot by turning radio station to 104.3 FM or Facebook Live.

January’s Mission of the Month is Child Evangelism Fellowship of Carbon-Lehigh Counties. The mission is devoted to reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The “ABC Food Pantry” is accepting food and monetary donations to help the community and members in need of food.

“Micah’s Backpack Program” is also collecting donations of individual cups of nonrefrigerated applesauce, pudding, gelatin and fruit cups. Also, individual microwave popcorn and ramen noodle soup (Maruchan brand only). The expiration date must be after May 2022. This caring program helps feed the needy students of Palmerton Area School District.

JUCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will hold Sunday service at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. You can also remain in your vehicle and listen to the service on radio station 95.5 FM or watch live on Facebook.

The service is also posted on the website after it has concluded.

Supply Pastor Don Quayle will lead the worship service.

Looking ahead the second movie night will be held on Feb. 18 at 6:30 p.m. “Heaven is for Real” will be shown in the church sanctuary.

Free of charge, and free popcorn and drinks.

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville, is now holding Sunday worship at 9 a.m. The Rev. Kenneth Melber Jr. leads the service. Come and join in worship.

In case of bad weather, worshippers will be able to find out if services have been canceled through either email (make sure the office has your email address), Facebook, the church website or Channels 13 and 69 on your TV.

Palmerton Food Pantry

A reminder that the CACPAC sponsored Palmerton Food Pantry will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton, on Friday from 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Blue Mountain Fiber Guild

The Blue Mountain Fiber Guild will meet on Feb. 1 at the Palmerton Area Library at 6 p.m. The group explores all things related to fiber arts (spinning, weaving, etc.) Stop by and check it out.

Children’s activities at the library continue with Story Time on the library’s Facebook page every Friday at 10:30 a.m.

NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program is a fun, empowering creative writing program. The challenge, draft entire novel in just one month using fun and exciting challenges. This program will be facilitated online by the library. The program will start in February.

Blind date with a book. For the month of February, the library wants to hook you up with a blind date.

Come check out a “mystery book” date. Books are from all genres, not just romance. Enter the prize raffle for each blind date book you check out. Open to teens and adults. Prize drawing Feb. 28.

Sew What Quilt Guild

The Sew What Quilt Guild will meet at the Palmerton Area Library on Feb. 4 at 10:30 a.m. New members and visitors are always welcome.

Kids for the Community

The Kids for the Community are conducting a Community Love Drive to benefit the Palmerton Food Pantry.

For the entire month of February, the group will be collecting shampoo, deodorants, toothpaste, tissues, paper towels, toilet paper and cleaning supplies. Items can be dropped off at 783 Princeton Ave., Palmerton.

The group is also still conducting its Warmth for Winter Drive. They are collecting coats, scarves, hats, and gloves.
