• A hit-and-run crash was reported on Tuesday at 8:31 a.m. along Deep Creek Road, in Barry Township.
Troopers said a vehicle was traveling eastbound sometime overnight and going too fast for conditions when the driver lost control. The vehicle slid off the road and sideswiped a 1997 Volkswagen Jetta that was legally parked at Fey’s General Auto Repair parking lot. The driver then fled the scene. Damages were minor to the Jetta.

Motto, 48, of Pottsville, was driving a 2012 Toyota Rav4 westbound and negotiating a left curve. At that time a 2001 Freightliner Fleet van, owned by FedEx, and operated by Harry A. Folino, 40, of Schuylkill Haven, was disabled partially in the west and eastbound lanes. Motto saw the van but thought she could move over from her lane to the eastbound lane far enough to avoid the van. There was a heavy glare at this location, troopers said, from the sun with the Toyota striking the van on the passenger side door.
No one was injured. The Toyota had to be towed. The van sustained minor damages.
