Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Tobia of Palmerton observed their 50th anniversary Jan. 14.

They were married in 1972, in the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Palmerton.

Mrs. Tobia is the former Mary Cahoy, daughter of the late Frank and Frances of Geddes, South Dakota.

Her husband is a son of the late Steve and Ann Tobia of Palmerton.

The Tobias are the parents of four children: daughter Lisa and husband Erik Lowe of Fogelsville; sons, Joe and wife Jen of Palmerton, Vincent and wife Chelsea of Kunkletown. A son Matthew died in 1996.

They have eight grandchildren.
