One person was seriously injured Thursday afternoon when involved in a crash along Route 209 in Mahoning township.

The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. on the Mansion House Hill, the second this week.

Emergency personnel were working to extricate one victim from a sport utility vehicle that went over the guiderails. That patient was flown by LifeFlight 6 to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center.

A sport utility vehicle came to rest in the north bound lanes with heavy front end damage. It is believed authorities are looking for a black pickup truck which may have fled the scene.

Mahoning township police are investigating the incident. Area fire police maintained traffic control at the scene shutting down the roadway.
