Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St. Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. At 8:30 a.m. is the contemporary service followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. and then traditional service at 11 a.m.

You can worship in person in the sanctuary or Leah’s Room or in the parking lot by turning radio station to 104.3 FM or Facebook Live.

Upcoming events for January:

Jan. 12, 19 and 26 at 7 p.m. is prayer and praise service.

Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. is Game Night for all ages. Bring your favorite game and a snack to share.

Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. is church council meeting.

Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. is adult Bible study.

January’s Mission of the Month is Child Evangelism Fellowship of Carbon-Lehigh Counties. The mission is devoted to reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The “ABC Food Pantry” is accepting food and monetary donations to help the community and members in need of food.

“Micah’s Backpack Program” is also collecting donations of individual cups of nonrefrigerated applesauce, pudding, gelatin and fruit cups. Also, individual microwave popcorn and ramen noodle soup (Maruchan brand only). The expiration date must be after May 2022. This caring program helps feed the needy students of Palmerton Area School District.

JUCC

Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Trachsville, will hold Sunday service at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. You can also remain in your vehicle and listen to the service on radio station 95.5 FM or watch live on Facebook. The service is also posted on the website after it has concluded. Supply Pastor Don Quayle will lead the worship service.

Starting Jan. 9, Sunday school will go in-person each Sunday during the 10 a.m. service.

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran

Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 Church Drive, Trachsville, is now holding Sunday worship at 9 a.m.

The congregation is happy to welcome its new pastor, the Rev. Kenneth Melber Jr. Come and join in worship.

Holy Trinity Lutheran

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship service on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. If you plan to attend, call the church office at 610-826-2525. If you are unable to attend in person, you may join on Zoom.

Bible study is held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Adult Education room.

Thrift Shop

The Holy Trinity Thrift Shop at 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, is open every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

They have a selection of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing. They also have housewares, books and much more.

Sew What Quilt Guild

The Sew What Quilt Guild will meet at the Palmerton Area Library on Jan. 7 at 10:30 a.m. New members and guests are always welcome.

Saturday Morning Yoga

Saturday Morning Yoga is back at the Palmerton Area Library. Melissa Zegley will be offering slow and gentle yoga on Saturday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. in the gallery. The program starts Jan 8.

Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous is an open meeting held every Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Living Hope Lighthouse Church, 705 N. Third St., Palmerton.
