State police at Fogelsville - crashes

State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported on the following crashes:

• A 16-year-old boy from New Tripoli after a one-vehicle crash on Decatur Street in Lynn Township at 7:42 a.m. Dec. 15.

Police said he was driving a 2015 Volkswagen east when he lost control of the vehicle and it traveled off the right shoulder of the road and struck a tree.

The vehicle sustained heavy damages and was towed from the scene.

Police said the boy was injured but the severity of his injuries are unknown.

• A 17-year-old girl from Kutztown escaped injuries in a crash at 7:12 a.m. Dec. 22 on Siegfriedale Road in Weisenberg Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said she was driving a 2004 Jeep Wrangler northbound when icy roadway conditions prevailed.

She lost control of the vehicle and it began to slide off the roadway, then struck a utility pole on the right side of the road, snapping it in half and causing the electric wires to come down near the roadway.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Police said all lanes of travel were closed down for about three hours after the crash.
