Area crashes
State police released information on area crashes:
• State police at the Bethlehem barracks said a 43-year-old woman from West Hazleton is facing drug possession and driving under the influence charges after a motor vehicle crash at 2:56 p.m. Oct. 13 on Route 309 in Heidelberg Township.
Police said after the crash they found the woman to be under the influence of illicit substances and to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
• A 41-year-old Philadelphia woman is a victim of the crash, police said.
Brittany A. Decowski, 23, of Freeland, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 10:28 a.m. Dec. 16 on the Eckley Road in Lausanne Township.
State police at the Hazleton barracks said she was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Trax northbound when it veered off the northbound shoulder of the road and struck a tree.
She was cited for the incident and police said the Trax was towed from the scene.
• Amanda K. Johnston, 36, of Lansford, was cited by state police at the Pocono barracks after a crash at 10:46 a.m. Dec. 20 on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 476).
The incident occurred at Milepost 67.4 in Washington Township.
Police said she was driving a 2006 Nissan Quest southbound and was in the left lane of travel when she lost control of the vehicle and it struck the center concrete barrier.
Johnston was not injured.
